We want you to be safe and happy! 一个 of the ways we strive to provide a proactive
and preventative approach to make sure you stay safe and happy is through our Student
Behavior Intervention Team (SBIT). The SBIT balances the individual needs of the student
with those of the greater College 社区 to provide a safe campus environment and
foster an institutional culture for sharing information and developing plans of support
for students of concern through collaboration, risk assessment and intervention.
By formalizing an information sharing system, conducting threat assessments, and
intervening with students at risk, the SBIT aims to identify patterns of behavior
that indicate possible risk or threat to maximize early detection and engagement opportunities.
The SBIT does not replace the disciplinary process, classroom management, or public

campus resources to help students achieve success.
You are encouraged to report concerns of unusual and/or threatening behavior to the
SBIT by submitting the SBIT referral form, even if you aren't experiencing a direct

- Extended absence from class or work by a typically engaged student
- Verbal or written threats made by a student toward another student, faculty or staff
- Verbal or written expressions of suicidal ideation

If the incident is not a 第九条 issue, the SBIT team evaluates the situation. 一个 or more of three outcomes are possible:
- SBIT may decide to address the concern and develop a plan of action to help the student(s) 涉及到.
